OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Our Physical Therapists will evaluate your balance, strength, joint motion and mobility in your home. They will develop an exercise program to improve strength, safety, transfers, reduce fall risk and help you move more independently in and out of your home.

Our Speech Therapists will evaluate your swallowing, speech and hearing. They will design an exercise program for facial, throat/neck and trunk strengthening, to help you swallow and communicate better. They can also help acquire and train, in the use of communication devices.

Our Occupational Therapists will evaluate your balance, transfers, and ability to perform self-care tasks like bathing and dressing. They will develop an exercise program to assist you to improve safety, reduce risk to fall and live more independently.

Home Health Aides

General Medicare Guidelines

All Accessible Home Care home health aides go through extensive training and pass a competency evaluation before they begin working with patients. Their skills include:


• Taking blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations
• Monitoring nutrition and fluid intake
• Observing, documenting and reporting patient status and care furnished
• Appropriate and safe techniques in personal hygiene/grooming 
• bed bath
• Sponge, shower or tub bath
• Nail care and skin care
• Oral hygiene
• Dressing
• Toileting
• Internal/external catheter care
• Safe transfers and ambulation
• Range of motion and positioning

Medicare pays for 100% for home health services and some supplies when the following guidelines are met. 

 

Homebound Status:

The consumer's absences from the home, except for medical care, should be infrequent and of short duration. Leaving the home requires a considerable and taxing effort

Physician:

Your Doctor has to order the services and be an active participant in meeting your home health care needs

Skilled need:

Your care needs must include a need for Skilled Nursing, Physical Therapy or Speech Therapy.
